Working together to build a better community – Clean, Green and Safe.
The Journal Square Community Association represents residents and owners of residential property in the Journal Square area.
We bring people together at monthly meetings so they can get to know their neighbors and to gain information on the goings-on in our neighborhood. We serve as a voice for the community in dealing with the city government, developers and the business community. Membership is open to all residents of Jersey City, as well as owners of residential property within the boundaries set forth in our by-laws. The New JSQ is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c) (3) organization, so member dues and donations are tax-deductible. We normally meet from 10 am to noon on the second Saturday of the month, except during June, July and August, when we meet from 7 to 9 pm on the second Monday. Our meetings are held at the Hudson County Community College STEM Building at 263 Academy Street.
In addition to monthly meetings, members can join sub-committees that address some of the major concerns of the Association. The committees are:
Clean-Green: Chaired by Renee Tirella Cassidy, Construction and Planning: Chaired by Chris Lamm, History: Chaired by James Dievler, Safety: Chaired by Kevin Bing, Senior Citizens: Chaired by Maryann von Roth
